SAEMI KIM
This Dalu collection is in collaboration with artist Saemi Kim, a South Korean born artist, who originally trained as a graphic designer and had a successful interior design business in London, England, prior to moving to Qatar. Saemi draws her inspiration from the nature and architecture of different cities, working in watercolour, ink, gouache, pencils and digital. Saemi's work grew to prominence with the success of her Doha map, a piece which she had originally decided to create for herself to hang in her home after realising there wasn't much available in the market. The map of Doha motivated Saemi to explore many other parts of the country that she hadn’t seen before, and since then, the main inspiration of her art has been the landscape and culture of Qatar. Saemi lives in Qatar with her husband and two daughters and runs art workshops to share her passion for art.
